Battle Monument
Monument Circle, Bennington, VT. The monument and all State Historic sites have free admission on August 16, 2025.
8/16/25 - The Annual 5k race sponsored by the Friends of the Bennington Battle Monument.
Shirt pickup at 7:30 AM. Race and fun run for kids starts at 8:30 AM. There will be Raffles and prizes. Register online.8/16/25 & 8/17/25 - Bennington Battle Monument - 10 am to 5 pm. Battle of Bennington encampment with re-enactors and cannons and musket demonstrations. WARNING: for neighbors, people with small children or dogs, musket and cannon fire entails loud noises.
8/16/25 - Moodus Drum and Fife Presentations - Bennington Battle Monument - Monument Circle. Starts at noon. 4 sets of 20 minutes with 10 minute breaks. A free open air concert with the Moodus Drum and Fife takes place on the lawn. a 134 year-old tradition, the Corp played at the dedication of the Monument in August of 1891, same drums, and same style. Bring a chair or blanket and sit back and enjoy and afternoon of 18th century music.

August 16 & 17 - Bennington Battlefield Tours - Walloomsac, NY. Enjoy guided tours of the battlefield on the hour Saturday and Sunday at 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, 2:00 3:00 & 4:00. Visitors will be led through the major points of interest in the First Engagement of the battle. A mix of driving and walking is required. No RSVP necessary. Commemoration of the Battle of Bennington | August 16, 7:00 PM
Join us for a commemoration marking the 248th anniversary of the Battle of Bennington. Representatives of the 2nd Continental Artillery Regiment, the Battle Monument in Vermont, as well as Sons of the American Revolution and Daughters of the American Revolution chapters will help to mark the occasion. Historical accounts will be shared before a wreath-laying and artillery salute.
