A Buildup to our 2025 Anniversary Start!

We spent 2024 doing two primary efforts; fundraising for our start in 2025 and building awareness about the upcoming anniversary years.

Our fundraiser was a “250th Gala Dinner” held at the Equinox Hotel on August 17, 2024. Folks gathered from near and far for a four course dinner with an 18th century theme, 18th century music, and a silent auction. Over $10,000 was raised in this effort to support our 2025 events and is the start of our ongoing fundraising efforts that will carry on for the next three years in support of education, events, creative works, and monuments all related to the 250th anniversaries.

Awareness events were widespread throughout the year including the Fourth of July parade, the Hoosick Falls Heritage and History Fair, events at the Bennington Battlefield, speaking engagements at many towns including Pownal, Bennington, Shaftsbury, Dorset, Manchester, Stillwater, Addison, and Burlington.

These culminated in an extra busy Battle Day Weekend where our local re-enactor group participated in five events: the D.A.R. marker dedication, the Bennington Battlefield Commemoration, the USS Bennington Ceremony, the Liberty Pole Raising, and the Bennington Battle Day Parade.
